U.S. gasoline prices headed to 3-year low

The Detroit News -- Gasoline pump prices in the U.S. are poised to drop to the lowest since February 2011 by New Year’s Eve as supplies increase more than demand, providing a lift for consumers in an economy struggling to recover from the deepest recession since the 1930s.

Retail prices will probably sink to an average of $3.15 a gallon by Dec. 31 from $3.339, according to Michael Green, a spokesman in Washington for AAA, the nation’s largest motoring organization. The highest seasonal inventories in three years are set to rise as plants return from scheduled maintenance. Refining capacity in the fourth quarter will be 410,000 barrels a day higher than last year, while demand climbs 10,000 barrels, the Energy Information Administration estimated Oct. 8.

The world market is responsible for gouging us. It speculators gambling on the future prices... sometimes, maybe even a catastrophe.

I saw $2.99 at a Shell station on a morning but returning in the afternoon the prices was back up. I am guessing we will see that again soon.

Lets hope so and more.. I mean.. even less... economy is still weak.. the lower gas goes, the more people will spend to travel and on other stuff helping to rebuild the economy..

Well...here we go again. The prognosticators attempting to earn their pay. Later today there will, not surprisingly, be a story telling us we should prepare for $5 a gal gas.

All the predictions go out the window as soon as some nut in the middle east goes crazier or obama decides it's time to blow something up over there.
