-----------------------------------

Because of Republican policies-

-----------------------------------
Inflation-Adjusted mid point Wages are 1/3rd what they were in 1980.

The Rich Republicans at the top are 1-2000 times richer at the expense of the middle class and poor.
-----------------------------------
They do not need bush's tax cut, they just hire illegal aliens and cut the wages for the middle class.
-----------------------------------
In the many years before 2006 the Republicans control of our government did not foster increasing the supply of oil.
They also deregulated the markets which has allowed the Speculators freedom to RAISE the price of Crude with no regard to supply and demand.
Another bad thing that happened on their watch is all the Control of fuel to very few companies, no competition.

In the news this morning...some people are buying crude oil futures at $150 per barrel. That's crazy and scary.

Toronto is one of the lowest pump prices in Canada. Today our price was raised 2.5 cents per litre (9.5 cents per US gallon) so now we are paying $4.7386 per US gallon. It's nice to know that the sheep (silent consumers) North of the 49th Parallel (Canada-US border) are helping keep US prices down a little. :( BTW, I don't blame Americans, in general, for our higher prices.

I try to ride my motorcycle every chance I get. The other day it was 35 degrees F. when I left the house. At 60 mph, the windchill was 17 degrees F.!! Still I had to smile at 50 mpg!

At some point, political pressure from business will result in Congressional action. This can't continue at this pace. Big money that stands to lose billions because of this will start lobbying congress to do something to stop this madness. Demand will eventually drop and hopefully so will prices, but I'd expect $5 gas by Christmas the way this is going.

There seems to be now way the U.S. economy can keep hanging on with no end in sight to the oil bonanza. Transporation costs go up, food costs in turn go up, etc, snowball, etc. Wouldn't suprise me to find our "recession" go full out into a depression. Thanks, King George.

It is 3.61 here. I had a 20 cent rebate so I felt like I was getting a deal at 3.41. That's sad. Well maybe I will be in better shape with all of this walking that I am doing lately.

Since China and India are the global reason demand is increasing, the fact that we are all trying to consume less won't have an effect. I guess it's time to invade China and India - lol.

I long for the days of $3.64!!!

We need to stop sending our crude oil dollars to sworn enemies of the US and start drilling for oil at home.

Reserves in ANWR and off-shore await.

Do you think either Clinton or Obama would approve?? Ha ha ha ha ha ha

Whatever! I would like to be surprise one day and see prices drop like 50 cents/litre. Now that would be a nice article to read and the type of record breaking that I would pay to see. :)

Maybe this is like the real estate boom. The bubble will eventually break, and the prices will fall!! Oh yeah that's right its a supply and demand thing. We are demanding less fuel so the price is going up? Time to buy some horses.

Gas prices have been marching steadily higher since the start of the year.
Newspaper articles have been promoting steadily higher prices since the start of the year.

Why is it that such articles tell us what we already know ??????????

Weak dollar, idiot president who cares only about his big oil and big business buddies, and the price of crude goes up and up, so the pump price goes up and up...

This morning an Independent on the corner was $3.989 for regular unleaded... $4/gallon is HERE!

USA ought to impose high tariffs on oil/gas imports from non-American tax based oil companies.

Non-American tax based oil companies should pay more in taxes to sell their energy in USA than the American companies..

USA ought to impose high tax on net revenues made by the American based oil companies.

Take all that tax money and issue it to me.

Just got another carpooler today...that makes it three and now I only use my truck to drive to work every 3 weeks. Expected savings = $1500/year @ $3.80/gal. over driving alone.
