LEDs on the 2014 Corvette Stingray

EDN -- While a recent Automotive Electronics Service report, LED Headlights: Styling Drives Growth, Control and Cost Challenges Remain, predicts that only 12% of light vehicles will adopt LED headlights by 2012, the luxury and high-end sports brands are immune to that low adoption rate. Take, for instance the 2014 Corvette Stingray (I wish I could). An estimated 450 horsepower, 0-60 in less than four seconds…zoom…but I digress.

The new Stingray has a complete redesign, in and out. Lighting features include:

•An exterior advanced high-intensity discharge and LED lighting.

As to size, I'm 6'3" and that's why I got a C5, one of the few I could fit into. As to mpg, my C5 get 21/22 combined around town and I've gotten 30 on trips. The C6 gets slightly less but the C7 is supposed to get back to that level, amazing touring car.

Nice changes, but what does this have to do with gas (except with 450 Hp, it will get about 3 gallons to each mile)

Even if you can afford one, you have to think long and hard about the overall costs of ownership.

LEDs are neat, use less energy and last longer. The down side, more expensive.

Not what I call a good investment. Unless you don't mind a car that starts rattling and falling apart after 10,000 miles.

This is for those with a small peen. I have never liked this car with exception to the '60s models. It's too "loud" in design and not refined. Much like our society.

Saw a "66 Vette on I74 the other day, the new ones may ride better and drive better, but I would take a '66 over a 2014.
