Iran starts navy drills in Strait of Hormuz -IRNA

OrlandoSentinel.com -- Iran started on Friday six days of naval drills in the Strait of Hormuz, the official IRNA news agency reported, maneuvers aimed at showcasing its military capabilities in what is a vital oil and gas shipping route.

Naval commander Habibollah Sayyari said the "Velayat 91" drills would last until Wednesday across an area of about 1 million square kilometers in the Strait of Hormuz, the Gulf of Oman and northern parts of the Indian Ocean, IRNA said.

Sayyari said the goal of the maneuvers were to show "the armed forces' military capabilities" in defending Iran's borders as well as sending a message of peace and friendship to neighboring countries.

What better to sucker the Americans into another costly regional conflict. A regional conflict that is not necessary, as N. America is not really reliant anymore on mid-east energy! China and possibly Russia will not stand for the Strait of Hormuz and the Gulf of Oman to be tied up with military conflict as this would hurt them probably more economically and strategically! Little or not, we don't own them -- none of our business. Let NATO deal with them. We have debts to pay for 10 years of 'undeclared war', tired and injured military force. So before you brake a glass, make sure you can afford to pay for it. BS attitude will get you nowhere but headaches, heartaches, lost loved ones, PSTD, suicide of one-a-day soldier, etc. Everyone pays for it especially the soldiers and their families -- so don't go singing the 'war' song unless you are planning to be in the front lines and you have $$ to pay for your weaponry and then some; stop borrowing from other nations like China. This is one of main reasons why we are in so much debt.
