Steel prices are already moving downward. Slower growth out of the developing world continues to support that trend. Slower developing world growth will also drive down margins for heavy equipment manufacturers like Caterpillar CAT -0.1%.

Increasing interest rates are slowing the housing recovery and lessen the demand for construction workers. This current rate rise is a bit of a conundrum, but for now lets assume that it makes sense and is not simply based on the market misreading the Fed’s intentions or the Fed itself being stuck in some sort of odd policy trap.

It's why the world economy is in the toilet. Plain and simple, energy prices have made life too difficult for the average American to get by. We now have to make choices and have less disposable income. The manipulation of oil prices is a terrible scandal, but who's to stop the lobbiest's, in Washington. As long as the Oil companies can give money to election campaigns, nothing will happen and we all will be poorer.

The economy is tanking. The feds cannot keep printing money and then using it to buy into the stock market as they are doing. Obummer is also getting the "cold shoulder" in Europe.

Why not crash, we just an excuse to raise the prices and make the government and oil companies richer. Just wondering, what do they hope to accomplish?

Crash baby crash! I'm still paying $3.16 a gallon in Austin, Texas, but some stations have tried to drive up gas and are selling for over $3.50 a gallon.

How much of a droppage is considered a crash? That is the question. Right now gas is about $3.34 per gallon. I like to see it down around $2.50 per gallon.
