Truthout -- Victims of contaminated water have sued Cabot and fought for more than two years for clean water, and, until about two months ago, Cabot was under state orders to deliver fresh water in giant vessels to several of the affected residences.

Hmmmm, the date of the email, that Batdan wonders if it's even real, posted below is December 2, 2011:

Subject: Follow-up status re: Nov 10, 2011 visit with Dimock PA residents
Dear Dimock Residents,
This email is a follow-up to the visits to Dimock area homes by EPA on November 10, 2011 and the
subsequent review of well sampling data for wells impacted by the Cabot Oil and Gas Company drilling
activities. EPA has conducted a preliminary review and screening of the data provided by the
Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection and residents. While we are continuing our
review, to date, the data does not indicate that the well water presents an immediate health threat to
users. EPA will continue to review available information related to the concerns of Dimock area
residents. We are continuing to work with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania going forward on this
issue.
Please feel free to call me or David Polish, Community Involvement Coordinator, at (215) 814-3327, if you
have further questions.
Sincerely,
Trish Taylor, Community Involvement Coordinator

fax: (215) 814 - 3015

Then one of the links Batdan posts below even refers to this email from Trish Taylor:

Excerpt- "Earlier data reviewed by EPA in November 2011 indicated that private well water posed no immediate health concern."

BIG OIL & GAS love us

Sometimes when a story is unfolding?
It is best to get a more recent update than what the bait & switch crowd offers.

January 19, 2012 - EPA SENDS FIRST WATER SHIPMENT TO Dimock; FAMILIES THANK EPA FOR INTERVENTION

(Dimock, PA) Dimock,PA fracking victims, whose wells were contaminated by Cabot Gas & Oil, will publicly thank the EPA for its decision to send emergency water relief to four of the eleven affected residents.

The press event will coincide with the EPA’s first water delivery at the home of Craig and Julie Sautner. In recent weeks, Dimock has become the center of a pivotal showdown in the national controversy over the safety of fracking. The families have been left without a reliable source of water since last November, when the PA DEP allowed Cabot to stop its weekly shipments of fresh water. In a statement issued today by the EPA, the agency said it would deliver water to four of the eleven families due to the fact that “data reviewed by EPA indicates that residents’ well water contains levels of contaminants that pose a health concern”.

Sorry but that link (http://eidmarcellus.org/wp-content/uploads/2011/12/EPA-message.pdf) to an EPA letter to Dimock Residents is old if it’s even real. There is no link to it on their site. Maybe it can be found on the EPA’s site. http://www.epaosc.org/site/doc_list.aspx?site_id=7555
And the EPA found that further testing is needed. The EPA Letter link goes to an energy industry set up site. Links from their site go to sites that are theirs, of other names, have disappointing news for EID when one reads the whole article. And a whois lookup tells that the registrar is private. No transparency with them. They also use elementary school like disparaging comments about their opponents. Name calling? Really now.

And who really trusts the EPA?
Not the Inspector General. http://www.nytimes.com/gwire/2011/09/28/28greenwire-new-ig-report-faults-process-in-epas-greenhous-53062.html
Logic, a bit of common sense and safety needs to rule over profits and haste.

Yep, there are lots of URLs, but if you wanna know the truth, ya gotta dig deep when money hides so much of it.

For fracking to continue, it has to be confirmed that it can be & will be done safely. So, there is no "undercut" as the title suggests.

The emotional quote from the story- ""I don't want to use that water again," Sautner said about his well, which was first contaminated with methane in 2009. "My daughter said it best. She said, she told my wife after the fact, 'Mom, I don't want to go back on that contaminated well again ... I don't want to get sick again. I don't want to get all these hives and rashes. And besides that, I want to have kids someday.'"

Funny that "truthout", LOL, doesn't mention the fact that the water was tested in Dimock and the EPA found in December that water was not contaminated by fracing.

Well, when you fracture the rock, it's no longer solid. It becomes porous and allows contaminates to seep into the water table.

How did you get 12 votes with no comments at all nerde?

Please try at least two or three of the beginning paragraphs to the article in the future. Minimalist and selective is not good here.

Very odd headline that ia 'at odds' with the article content!

read the whole article and ck for yourself on this guilty and incompetent driller.

end of article: ...There is a moratorium on fracking in the area, but resident Craig Sautner, who leased his gas rights to Cabot a few years ago and has since become an anti-fracking activist, said his well water is still discolored and contaminated. In December, Sautner told Truthout the gritty details of a struggle that has consumed his life.

"I don't want to use that water again," Sautner said about his well, which was first contaminated with methane in 2009. "My daughter said it best. She said, she told my wife after the fact, 'Mom, I don't want to go back on that contaminated well again ... I don't want to get sick again. I don't want to get all these hives and rashes. And besides that, I want to have kids someday.'"
