Crude Edges Higher After Modest Oil-Stocks Build

Dow Jones Newswires --
Crude-oil futures finished slightly higher Wednesday after a government report showed U.S. crude-oil stockpiles rose less than expected last week, although oil demand overall was weak.

Light, sweet crude oil for March delivery settled up 30 cents, or 0.3%, to $98.71 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange. Brent crude oil on the ICE futures exchange settled 97 cents per barrel, or 0.8%, higher at $117.20.

U.S. oil inventories last week rose 300,000 barrels, the Department of Energy reported, well below the 2.7-million-barrel increase forecast by analysts surveyed by Dow Jones Newswires.

Despite the modest increase, weak demand continues to keep prices restrained. Nymex futures actually declined from highs of $100.09 a barrel following the weekly survey from the DOE's Energy

Crude Edges Higher After Modest Oil-Stocks Build and STOP Big oil from selling fuel and natural gas on the world market for higher prices, there will be NO price reduction for the cost of fuel or natural gas IN the US. Barry will support natural gas and oil production for sale on the world market to pay for his ‘spending gone wild’ addiction. The US ‘oil and natural gas resources’ belong to the citizens of this country and are to be used by those same citizens! Speculators, manipulators and the banks continue to unfairly and unjustly make the driving public pay higher prices at the pump for their benefit.
Whatever the size or shape of the vehicle is, Produce and ‘Drive’ vehicles with high MPG, are very reliable, have a ‘reasonable’ cost and a good ‘value’ for the money.
The price of fuel at the pump is too high!

I don't think which president we have matters with gas prices. We paid over $4 with Bush too. I found a trip record in 1996 and gasoline was only 90 cents a gallon.

Expect higher prices. obama's agenda with ANWR, gulf oil exploration and with the cancelled pipeline is to make fossil fuel prices increase to make alternative energy more attractive. Normally, that would be enough to do him in as a one term president, except the Republicans are so screwed up this time that he may well get re-elected... and gas prices will go even higher!

Maybe if inventories go down the price will go down. Vs. inventories go up and prices go up.

The speculators must be at it again. The speculators must be regulated. Raise the margin requirement and make them take delivery on their contracts. Sadly, the block head Republicans will oppose any regulation, just as they opposed regulating Wall Street and the banks after the financial collapse. The GOBP has the interest of big business and the very wealthy (read big contributors) at heart, not those of the middle class. Vote them out in 2012!

Prices will stay about the same. Looks like oil will stay in the 95-101 range for most of 2012.

Prices for gas are too high. Let's elect politicians committed to small government and less regulation, so prices will come down!
