Have a post-Super Bowl plan for safe drive home

GasBuddy Blog -- The best Super Bowl party, whether it's at your house, or a local pub or two, is the one from which you return home safely. We all know what a great tradition it's become; and for many the festivities get started well before kick-off and sometimes continue long after the 4th quarter 'pool money' has been dispersed...

Last year’s Super Bowl put up some sobering statistics: Drunken drivers caused 43 percent of all traffic fatalities on game day in 2013, according to a study by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

That one day’s numbers, when compared to an average of 31 percent for that year as a whole, signals a real problem.

More of the intoxicated drivers tend to be from bars and restaurants...

Superbowl parties or any parties...if you are planning to drink, make sure someone else is doing the driving home. We always advise our children to drive defensively and be on alert as there may be more 'impaired' drivers than usual on the road.

Have a post-Super Bowl plan for safe drive home. Drunken drivers caused 43 percent of all traffic fatalities on game day in 2013. More of the intoxicated drivers tend to be from bars and restaurants than house parties. If you are the one serving alcohol you have a responsibility to keep guests safe and keep intoxicated friends off the roads.
Do Not overserve alcohol! Do Not Drink and Drive!
Have a back up plan to get home if you are away...
According to NHTSA, 9,878 people were killed in alcohol imparied driving crashes. About 69 percent occured on the weekend.
Stop serving alcohol at the end of the third quarter and start serving coffee and dessert.
Good suggestions and use common sense when at a party or gathering.
I will be home, I'm not going anywhere on this day! No drinkng but some eating. Recliner time!
Have A Happy and Safe Super Bowl! *****BURP!!!! Ba-ump! pfffffft!
Drive vehicles with high mpg, are very safe, reliable, have a ‘reasonable’ cost and a good ‘value’ for the money.
The price of fuel at the pump is too high!

since they bust you now for a whiff on beer on your breath you better watch out for the 'controllers' also known as the police, keep giving them more power people without contacting your representatives, the founding fathers would be so ashamed at people now.

Me too ... I stayed home and payed no attention to the Super Farce. The wrong teams were there, the NFC team on the West Coast and the AFC team on the East Coast!

Have a good plan for St. Patricks day which is coming up. Also be care full on Valentines day. I guess you should plan for a safe drive anytime you go home or anywhere else

The powers that be were so worried about having to play a football game in the snow and the cold.

Now, the Northeast is caught up in a snowstorm and the fans that waited until Monday morning to leave are stuck in the airport.

It wasn't a lousy game. It would have been a lousy game if Seattle's defense resulted in a shutout.

And as to drunk drivers, it was only compounded in the home states of the two teams. Only two states have legalized the recreational use of marijuana. The only NFL teams in those two states went to the SuperbOwl. Driving around there, you not only had to worry about drunk drivers, you had to worry about stoned drivers.
